Aerating the lawns- Part Two

Finally I have managed to aerate the front and back lawns completely.

Why did I do it? My lawns, especially the back one, have suffered over the past few years from soil compaction. As a consequence, in the back lawn, the grass struggles to grow effectively and weeds and moss have sadly developed.

I have read in numerous places, particularly Dr Hesseyon’s Lawn Expert book, that aerating the lawn allows air, moisture and nutrients to get to the grass roots which will stimulate new growth. I have also fed and watered in the feed over both lawns.

Fingers crossed
